PURPOSE: A position tracking method using Zigbee and a system thereof are provided to transmit the identifying information, position information and time information of a portable Zigbee terminal to an intermediator based on the reception of a high-output signal or a low-output signal. CONSTITUTION: Each of a plurality of intermediators(11,12,21,22) transmits signals about ID, time information and position information based on a high-output signal and a low-output signal. Each of the intermediators receives the identifying information and location information from each of a plurality of portable Zigbee terminals(1,2). Each of the portable Zigbee terminals periodically receives a high-output signal and a low-output signal from each of the intermediators. Each of the portable Zigbee terminals stores the time information and location information if a high-output signal is received. Each of the portable Zigbee terminals transmits ID, time information and location information to an adjacent intermediator if a low-output signal is received.
