PURPOSE: An electrolyte for a lithium air battery is provided to improve reversibility of an electric chemical reaction by oxide decomposing lithium peroxide generated from an air electrode. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte for a lithium air battery comprises a compound represented by chemical formula 1, compound represented by chemical formula 2, or a combination thereof; and a lithium salt. In chemical formula 1 and 2, X is B, Al, Ga, or In; each of R^1 - R^3 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-20 alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 aryl or substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 heteroaryl; each of R^4 - R^6 is substituted or unsubstituted C1-20 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 aryl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-30 heteroaryl, or a functional group represented by chemical formula 3.
