PURPOSE: A high definition image sensor using an analog to digital converter is provided to implement a normal mode of reading a signal sequentially from each column from pixels of the image sensor and a binning mode of reading signals for a number of adjacent pixels of two columns through a charge averaging method. CONSTITUTION: A column driver includes more than one column analog to digital converters(ADC)(200) receiving a signal from two column lines included in a pixel array. The column ADC includes a sigma-delta ADC(201) and a successive approximation register ADC(202). The sigma-delta ADC receives an output voltage of the pixel from at least two column lines of the pixel array, and then performs analog to digital conversion of the output voltage. The successive approximation register ADC receives an output value of the sigma-delta ADC, and then performs the analog to digital conversion of the output value.
