'In a stud and socket fastening the socket 10 has a base 16 with an upstanding wall 22 which forms a stud-receiving cavity 24, is slotted at 26 to provide a resilient tongue 28, and has a locking- shoulder 30 formed therein situated opposite the tongue 28. The socket 10 is a three-side lock type so that a stud 14, having a reduced neck 36 and an enlarged head 38, is inserted into it by tilting. The stud first engages the locking-shoulder 30 and then, on entering the socket, it forces the tongue outwardly which, on returning, holds the stud in situ. The stud is released by moving the tongue outwardly so that the stud can be tilted about the shoulder 30 of the socket. The stud 14 is attached to a sheet 11 by a member 141, and the socket 10 is attached to a sheet 12 by a rivet 20. |
