851,083. Variable-speed gear. INSTITUT FUR LANDMASCHINENUND TRAKTORENBAU. July 18, 1957, No. 22775/57. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXI] A steplessly variable-ratio gear 18, for op tional use in series with the main stepped-ratio travelling gear of a tractor, is arranged for subsequent attachment to the existing stepped gear 11, 12 by the provision of two connection shafts 7, 16, extending out through the side wall 17 of the existing gear for connection to the input and output shafts of the attached stepless gear. The stepped gear, which has wheels slidable on an input shaft 11 to mesh wheels fast on an output shaft 12, is driven through a double main clutch 1, providing a power take-off 3, and a bevel reverse gear 6, having a forward and reverse dog clutch 10. For drive through the stepless and stepped gears in series dog clutches 9, 10 are disengaged and dog clutches 13, 19 are engaged to drive the connection shaft 7 from the bevel 6 and to drive the stepped gear input 11 through bevels 15. For stepped drive alone, the dog clutches 19, 13 are released, 9 engaged and 10 engaged with the bevel 8 at 5 for reverse or forward drive as required. When the stepped drive only is required the double clutch 1 provides power to the bevel 5 only and the stepless gear 18 is removed. The dog clutches 9 and 19 are operable from a single lever. |
