An endoscope light source apparatus that controls a turret provided with an optical filter for transmitting an illuminating light includes a turret provided with an optical filter, an instruction section in which an operation instruction of the turret is inputted, a first detector that detects a position of the turret, a second detector that detects a position of a range narrower than a range detected by the first detector, a drive section 35 that drives the turret, and a turret control section that outputs a drive signal to the drive section to move the turret to an inside of a second range that is narrower than an inside of a first range and is detected by the second detector, after moving the turret to the inside of the first range detected by the first detector, based on the instruction section, and an output of the first detector.
