PURPOSE: A furnace temperature control device capable of improving productivity of slab and a method thereof are provided to control the furnace temperature of a following zone by reflecting a preceding zone among a charging zone, a preheating zone, a heating zone, and a soaking zone, thereby improving productivity of slab. CONSTITUTION: A furnace temperature control device comprises temperature measurement modules(111-114) and a temperature control module(120). The temperature measurement module measures the furnace temperature of a following zone on which a first rolling material is placed; and the furnace temperature of a preceding zone on which a second rolling material, which is transferred to the following zone to follow the first rolling material, is placed. The temperature control module sets up the furnace temperature of the following zone with the consideration for the furnace temperature of the preceding zone, and controls the furnace temperature of the following zone according to the setup furnace temperature. The temperature control module sums up the measured furnace temperature of the preceding zone and the measured furnace temperature by weighting the measured furnace temperature of the preceding zone and the measured furnace temperature respectively to set up the furnace temperature of the following zone.
