<p>PURPOSE: An LED street lamp and a control method thereof are provided to enhance attentiveness and concentration of a driver travelling a dangerous area of a road, by changing the period within 8~30Hz range and changing the color of lighting if necessary. CONSTITUTION: An LED street lamp includes a lighting part(100), a waveform generation and control part(530) and a power supply control part(540). The lighting part consists of LEDs. The waveform generation and control part generates a waveform with a fixed period, and controls the LEDs. The power supply control part supplies a power source to the lighting part, and controls electric power in order to enable level control for the flash with a fixed period and waveform implementation. As the LED light is on and off with the fixed period, attentiveness and concentration of a driver increase.
