A method for assigning resources in a mobile communication system is provided to minimize the power consumption of an AT(Access Terminal) by providing resource assignment update information to the AT using the F-SSCH(Forward Shared Signaling Channel) of a physical frame, for which resource assignment has been completed already, and making the AT receive appointed physical frames only. An AN(Access Network) transmits new forward link assignment information to the AT using the F-SSCH of physical frame #3, for which resource assignment has been completed already, in order to transmit forward link data(S703). The AT receives the F-SSCH, updates the information of an allocated resource assignment block, and receives forward link data from the AN(S704). The AT decodes the F-SSCH to confirm whether additional resource assignment or resource release is generated, and receives data through physical frame #3. If it is time to transmit physical frame #5 for additional resource assignment, the AN transfers an NS-FLAB(Non Sticky Forward Link Assignment Block) to the AT using the F-SSCH(S705). The AT, based on the physical frame information contained in a previously received AAB(Additional Assignment Block), decodes the F-SSCH transferred from the AN, updates the information of the allocated resource assignment block, and receives forward link data according to the updated resource assignment information(S706). |
