PURPOSE: A ballasting system for a ship and an automatic ballasting method thereof are provided to implement a stable work and to prevent malfunction by feeding back results to a terminal for an operator. CONSTITUTION: A ballasting system for a ship comprises water level measuring instruments(171b,172b), a draft measuring instrument(14), a terminal device(13), and an integrated control device(15). The water level measuring instruments are installed in ballast tanks(171a,172a) to measure the water level of the ballast tanks. The terminal device determines the identification information of the ballast tanks, the ballasting and deballasting amount of ballast water, and the work sequence of ballasting and deballasting. The integrated control device transmits the information receiving from the water level and draft measuring instruments and controls ballast pumps(P1,P2) and valves(B1,B2).
