PURPOSE: A permanent magnet synchronous motor and a control method thereof are provided to always implement motor output performance of equal level, by being able to always set an initial angle at the same position, even though a signal outputted from an encoder of the motor is not ideal. CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) module includes a phase difference calculation part(110) and a micro processor unit(120). The phase difference calculation part calculates phase difference from a Hall-state signal and counter electromotive force of an electric motor. The micro processor unit detects the Hall-state by receiving the Hall-state signal from the electric motor, and provides information about the Hall-state to the phase difference calculation part, and corrects the angle of the electric motor using the phase difference.
