PURPOSE: A method for screening materials to prevent or treat osteoporosis is provided to select candidate materials to prevent or treat osteoporosis within a week. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening materials to prevent or treat osteoporosis includes the following steps of: treating mesenchymal stem cells with a testing material, and culturing the treated material within a week; measuring the amount of leptin in cell the cultivated liquid by enzyme-linked anti body attaching reaction; and comparing the testing material with a control group, and selecting a candidate material which increases the amount of leptin. The testing material is selected from a group including synthetic compounds, microorganism cultured liquids or extracts, synthetic peptide, hexane, protein, antibody, aptamer, and natural extracts.
