PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a weight-lightening pulley and the weight-lightening pulley are provided to deliver a correct driving force using a timing belt-driven delivery method. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a weight-lightening pulley comprises the following steps: a step of fixing a pulley(10) to a processing device; a step of cutting external diameter(13a) of a chisel end(13) and both sides(13b) after measuring and correcting concentricity of the pulley; a step of coupling a fixing bolt to a coupling hole and a female screw hole after inserting a key into a fixing shaft while inserting the key into a key groove of a taper bush; a step of processing a belt gear for a timing belt through chisel processing to the external diameter while rotating the pulley at high speed; and a step of delivering a correct driving force.
