摘要 |
PURPOSE: A magnetostrictive transducer for omnidirectional shear horizontal wave conversion is provided to generate a shear horizontal wave across all the directions of a contacted test piece. CONSTITUTION: A magnetostrictive transducer includes a waveguide(10), a magnetostrictive patch(20), a coil(30), and a magnet(40). A cylindrical waveguide is equipped with a circular cross section and a contact terminal which contacts with a test piece. One or more ring-shaped grooves with different sizes are formed around a central point. The magnetostrictive patch is made of a ferromagnetic material and attached to the waveguide along a circumferential surface. The coil forms a dynamic magnetic field passing through the inside of the waveguide. The magnet forms a static magnetic field in the circumferential direction of the waveguide. |
