<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain more preferable gradation display. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes a video processing unit for subjecting a video to video processing, and a display unit for displaying the video subjected to the video processing by the video processing unit. When display gradation of the display unit is N bits, the video processing unit processes a video having gradation of N+M bits as a processing target to generate the m-th power of 2-1 pieces of interpolation frames and inserts the frames into between two frames of the video as the processing target. The video processing unit generates values of pixels in at least a partial region of the interpolation frames to be generated, by using bit number conversion processing for converting values of N+M bits of pixels in at least one frame out of the two frames of the video as the processing target into values of N bits, and changes the bit number conversion processing according to a value of low-order M bits of the value of N+M bits. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
