Class 20(4) A reinforced concrete beam or other concrete member contains a core formed wholly or partly of foamed polymeric material e.g. polystyrene. The core may be solid or hollow, may be in a continuous length or may be formed by a number of shorter blocks or by adhesively united slabs of the foamed material. Hollow cores may be provided with internal stiffeners and any open end may be sealed with a sheet of either the foamed material or of metal or plastic.
