<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine torque control method for hybrid vehicle that can improve fuel consumption of a vehicle by controlling the torque of an engine at optimum efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The engine torque control method for hybrid vehicle includes: a step of inputting mapping information including an intake temperature and atmospheric pressure correction factor as a reference for engine target test; a step of calculating an available torque of present engine in consideration of the intake temperature and atmospheric pressure correction factor calculated in the present engine on the basis of the mapping information; and a step of applying a ratio of an optimum operation curve for each of the number of rotations (RPM) in the engine target test to the available torque of the present engine and calculating an optimum operation curve (OOL) torque in the present engine.
