<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus improved in time efficiency concerning a preliminary discharge operation. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge receiving part is located in a particular area (an area in an opposite area in which a carriage moved in the main scanning direction can be opposed thereto and an area through which a recording medium conveyed by a conveying means passes) or at an adjacent position (a position in the opposite area and a position adjacent to the outside of the particular area in the main scanning direction). In the execution of treatment in which an image is recorded on the recording medium while the carriage is moved in one direction of the main scanning direction, by a first preliminary discharge means, ink is discharged to the discharge receiving part from a nozzle extracted by a first nozzle extraction means (a nozzle which is not used for recording the image by the treatment and can oppose the discharge receiving part). Therefore, while the image is recorded by using the nozzle of a part, the preliminary discharge operation of the nozzle extracted by the first nozzle extraction means can be executed, and time efficiency concerning the preliminary discharge operation can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
