<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed type rotary electric machine capable of easily performing assembling work. <P>SOLUTION: A sealed type rotary electric machine includes a stator 11, a rotor 12, and a sealed housing 13 that accommodates the stator 11 and rotor 12. The housing 13 includes a cylindrical housing 20 which has an opening and in which the stator 11 inserted from the opening is fixed and a housing cover that is joined with the end face of the cylindrical housing 20 and covers the opening. The inner wall of the cylindrical housing 20 includes a contact part that is in contact with the end face of the stator 11 to restrict transfer of the stator 11 in an insertion direction. An annular member 31 is provided in which an annular seal portion 32 and a spring part 33 provided inside the seal portion 32 are integrally formed. The seal portion 32 intervenes between the end face of cylindrical housing 20 and the joining face with the housing cover.
