<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that a conventional image reading device cannot light a light source because no power is supplied when external power is blocked, and thus, the image reading device cannot be used as an emergency light at interruption of service at night. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading device 10 has: a main power supply unit 21; an auxiliary power supply unit 22; a document reading table 15; a document cover unit 16; a light source unit 24 illuminating a document G; an image reading unit 25 reading out image data from the document G; an opening/closing detection unit 17 detecting opening and closing of the document cover unit 16, and outputting a detection result; and an external power interruption detection unit 30. Especially, the external power interruption detection unit 30 detects that supply of external power PS0 is blocked, such as an interruption of service, and lights the light source unit 24 when the detection result of the opening/closing detection unit 17 indicates an opening state. Thereby, the image reading device 10 can light the light source unit 24 and use it as an illumination device at interruption of service of the external power at night by opening the document cover unit 17 when the supply of the external power PS0 is blocked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
