PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate with a lipid bilayer membrane, having improved stability of the lipid bilayer membrane, to provide a method for producing the substrate with the lipid bilayer membrane, and to provide a hydrogel substrate usable for the method for producing the substrate with the lipid bilayer membrane.

SOLUTION: (1) The substrate 1 with the lipid bilayer membrane, obtained by forming a hole part 20 in a substrate 10, and covering the opening 21 of the hole part 20 with a lipid bilayer membrane 30 is characterized by the hole part 20 packed with a hydrogel 22. (2) The substrate with the lipid bilayer membrane is characterized by the contact of the lipid bilayer membrane 30 with the hydrogel 22 at the opening 21. (3) The substrate with the lipid bilayer membrane is characterized by an overhung part 11a formed so as to extend to the opening 21 of the hole part 20 in the direction for narrowing the opening. (4) The substrate with the lipid bilayer membrane is characterized by a membrane protein 31 arranged at a part covering the opening 21 in the lipid bilayer membrane 30.
