PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a difference in color before and after replacement processing of total amount regulation.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus of the present invention includes: color information obtaining means for obtaining color information on a color reproduced by a specific single color and a color reproduced by a mixed color of a plurality of fundamental colors adjacent to the specific color in terms of hue; replacement information creating means for creating replacement information indicating a rate of replacement from signal values of the plurality of fundamental colors to a signal value of the specific color on the basis of the color information obtained by the color information obtaining means; and replacement processing means for replacing the signal value of the plurality of fundamental colors with the signal value of the specific color on the basis of the replacement information created by the replacement information creating means, if the total sum of the signal values of the respective colors of the image signal exceeds the set limit value when outputting an image on the basis of an image signal comprising the plurality of fundamental colors and the specific color.
