<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for properly recognizing a sleeping face. <P>SOLUTION: Means which comprises face detection means for detecting a human face and eye-closing-degree determination means for determining the degree of closing of human eyes detected by the face detection means and which determines the human face as a sleeping face on the basis of information obtained by monitoring the eye-closing degree several times comprises eye-opening determination means for determining opening of the human eyes if the eye-closing degree takes on a predetermined value or less.
