PURPOSE: An electronic boarding ticket issuing system using a 2D barcode and a control method thereof are provided to make an electronic boarding ticket be issued using a portable terminal having a camera and help users use the electronic boarding ticket without a boarding ticket be charged by a transportation or charge card. CONSTITUTION: An electronic boarding ticket issuing system includes a boarding ticket issuing apparatus(100), a boarding ticket opening and collecting apparatus(500) and a user terminal(300). The electronic boarding ticket issuing apparatus displays a boarding ticket by coding into a 2D barcode according to the inputted boarding information. The boarding ticket opening and collecting apparatus opens and collects the boarding ticket by extracting the boarding information from the 2D barcode. The user terminal photographs and stores the 2D barcode displayed in the boarding ticket issuing apparatus and displays the 2D barcode according to the selection of boarding or disembarking function by the user.
