<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection component which is easy to assemble and is low-cost and is capable of achieving low-loss connection. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connection component 21 is configured to include a coated optical fiber 23 including an optical fiber 22, a ferrule 24 for housing and fixing the optical fiber 22, a projecting portion 25 provided at a front end part 29 of the optical fiber 22, and a housing. The optical connection component 21 is configured so that low-loss connection between the optical fibers 22 can be achieved by physical contact connection between the projecting portions 25. In the optical connection component 21, the projecting portion 25 projecting more than a front end surface 36 of the ferrule 24 is formed at the front end part 29 of the optical fiber 22 by an adhesive 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
