PURPOSE: A data communications system between railroad cars using a power line communication and a method thereof are provided to supply data communications between railway cars without adding a separate intermediary, and to manage and to supply data communications between railway cars without spoiling or changing a structure of an existing car, and to apply to a train of a various kind. CONSTITUTION: A data communications device between railroad cars comprises a data receiver(210) receiving a signal generated from a car; a PLC (Power line communication) modem(220) modulating a received signal into a power line communications signal; and a PLC signal combiner(230) providing a modulated signal to a wheel of a car. A signal provided to the wheel is provided to another vehicle through a line of a railroad in which a car is operated.
