<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which suppresses scattering of toner and image voids, and can reduce the driving load of an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which includes an image carrier such as an intermediate transfer belt 6, toner image formation means for forming a toner image on the image carrier, and transfer means such as a secondary transfer roller 10 for transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier onto a recording medium such as a transfer paper, the transfer means is configured so that a pressure between the image carrier and the recording medium is set at such a value that the toner is plastically deformed, or more and such a value that the toner image is formed into a film, or less, the transfer means is used as half-film forming means for forming the toner image into a half film, an electric field is formed between the image carrier and the recording medium, and the toner image on the image carrier is electrostatically transferred onto the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
