<p>The present invention refers to a method for adapting a biogas collector to a municipal sanitary landfill, the invention having a design that facilitates a higher collection of biogas, which is used as alternate energy by means of a novel design of the area for collecting and containing biogas that includes specific elements for collecting gases trapped at the upper portion of the sanitary landfill, also reducing important leakages of biogas and minimizing the collection of atmospheric air in the inner portion of the sanitary landfill, which may be mixed with the biogas and directly affect the barometric fluctuation and the quality and utility of the gas, since air creates a more oxidative environment in the sanitary landfill and promotes the consumption of methane by oxidation, therefore inhibiting the microbial anaerobic fermentation intended to produce the biogas.</p> |
