PURPOSE: A developing device is provided to smoothly deliver a developer between a mixing and transporting portion and a supplying and transporting portion, thereby reducing the amount of developers which remain in the mixing and transporting portion. CONSTITUTION: A mixing and transporting portion(110) mixes a developer and transports the developer in a first transporting direction. A supplying and transporting portion(120) transports the developer which is delivered through a connection portion in the mixing and transporting portion in a second transporting direction, and supplies the developer to a developer bearing body. Based on a rotary shaft of the mixing and transporting portion, an axis diameter of a part which corresponds to the connection portion in the supplying and transporting portion is smaller than the axis diameter of other parts. Therefore, an accommodation space is secured in a bigger size than the developer which is pushed up by second and third spiral wings(111d,111f) of the mixing and transporting portion.
