<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water heater, capable of suppressing generation of hydrogen gas or deterioration of an electrode by preventing current from being continuously carried between electrodes when a bias circuit or a scan circuit is broken. <P>SOLUTION: The hot water heater includes: a heating source for heating hot water for heating; a heat exchanger 1 for transferring heated energy to hot water; a circulation pump 8 for circulating the hot water through a circulation pipe connected to each heating terminal; a water tank 7 provided in the middle of the circulation pipe; a water electrode 13 disposed within the water tank 7 to detect a reduction in water in the water tank 7; a water electrode determination circuit 20 which detects a state of the water electrode 13; a bias circuit 25 for limiting an operation mode of carrying current to the water electrode 13; and a control unit 23 which performs control according to information from the water electrode determination circuit 20. The heater further includes a current-carrying interruption circuit 29 for interrupting the current carrying to the water electrode 13 when the bias circuit 25 is broken. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
