<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing (S)-2-benzyl-3-(cis-hexahydro-2-isoindolinylcarbonyl)benzyl propionate used as a reaction intermediate of mitiglinide calcium hydrate, by which the same can be produced in a short process, in a short time, with mild conditions and in a good yield. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing (S)-2-benzyl-3-(cis-hexahydro-2-isoindonilylcarbonyl)benzyl propionate comprises a step of causing a reaction between N-[(S)-2-benzyl-3-(cis-hexahydro-2-isoindonilylcarbonyl)propionyl]imidazole and benzyl alcohol in the presence of a strongly basic tertiary amine compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
