The device (10) has a restraint device (22) for restraining non-evaporating cryogenic cooling agent at a coolant container compartment (4) during filling of cryogenic coolant. A decompression nozzle (19) of a supply pipe (18), a drain outlet (13) of a discharge device and the restraint device are integrated into a filling head (11). The filling head is equipped with a sealing element (15) i.e. sealing lip, for gas-tight coupling of the coolant container compartment at a region of a filling opening (6) of the coolant container compartment. The sealing lip is made of a flexible material.
