PURPOSE: A portable terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to offer effective contact address management functions by providing differentiated services for two or more contact addresses. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal displays a contact address list including a plurality of contact addresses(S210). The portable terminal determines a first receiver in the contact address list according to a user input(S220). When there is one or more second contact addresses connected to the first contact address, the portable terminal determines the one or more second contact addresses as a second receiver(S230).
