<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve reliability of a current interruption mechanism having a fragile section in a sealed battery caulking-sealed via an insulation gasket. <P>SOLUTION: A sealed battery comprises: a cylindrical outer can with a bottom; a sealing body having a terminal plate and a safety valve positioned on an outer side than the terminal plate; and an insulation gasket, and is sealed by caulking an opening of the outer can via the insulation gasket. The safety valve and the terminal plate are connected so that they are electrically disconnected when an internal pressure of the battery increases. A diameter of the terminal plate is smaller than a diameter of the safety valve, and the insulation gasket has an insulation gasket body supporting and fixing the safety valve, and an extension section continued to it. A terminal plate support section is formed on the extension section. The terminal support section contacts a lower face of the terminal plate nearer the inside than an outer peripheral edge of the lower face of the terminal plate. A gasket portion other than the terminal plate support section is not in contact with a side face of the terminal plate and the outer peripheral edge of the lower face continued to the side face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
