Described is a device and basic characteristics thereof for using the cylindrical deformation of pneumatics as a source of mechanical power, which may generate electric energy. The use of suitable piezoelectric materials allows the stress caused by the pneumatic tread to be used for generating a voltage difference that may be transformed into an ELECTRIC CURRENT. The energy generated by a piezo-rotodynamic generator may increase the autonomy of a vehicle and reduce the consumption of fossil fuel, reducing the impact on the environment. The piezo-rotodynamic generator may be used, in a general manner, in each pneumatic of an automobile, this representing an application with a potential market.
