PERICAPIUM ZANTHOXYLI COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING OBESITY

PURPOSE: A composition containing a Pericarpium zanthoxyli extract for preventing and treating obesity is provided to regulate OP9 cells, and to reduce lipid accumulation in a cell without cytotoxicity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating obesity contains 0.1-90 parts by weight of a Pericarpium zanthoxyli extract as an active ingredient. A method for preparing the composition comprises: a step of refluxing Rubia cordifolia in an alcohol solution for 2 hours and extracting; a step of filtering the extract and concentrating by reduced pressure; a step of adding water and suspending; a step of placing the resultant at room temperature for a predetermined time; and a step of centrifuging and obtaining a water insoluble Rubia cordifolia extract.
