PURPOSE: A secondary lane change method and a device using illumination are provided to safely change lanes in the night time by informing drivers whether lane change is possible or not. CONSTITUTION: A secondary lane change device using illumination comprises left and right side mirror cameras(130,140) which are respectively installed in the lower ends of the left and right side vehicle mirrors; an image processing unit(150) which processes images obtained through the left and right side mirror cameras; a control unit(120) which is connected to a direction director in order to determine whether lane change is possible or not according to the operation of a direction director and controls the operation of the left and right side mirror cameras; and a calculation and determining unit which determines availability of lane change based on the processed result by the image processing unit.
