<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve soft error tolerance of an electronic system device by monitoring the occurrence of soft errors due to soft error causes such as environmental radiation and by autonomously following an installation environment and an environment change and performing adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic system device includes: means 11 for detecting soft errors in a cache memory 3 managed by a processor core 2 and a main storage memory 5; means 11 for monitoring the occurrence of the soft errors; means 13 for recording total operating hours until the time when the soft error has occurred and the number of times of soft error occurrences; means 11 for calculating a soft error rate; means 14 for storing thresholds of the soft error rate and information for switching a control method of the cache memory in association with each other; and means 12 for, when the calculated soft error rate and a previous soft error rate change across any threshold stored in the storage means, outputting a cache mode switching instruction on the basis of the information for switching the control method of the cache memory corresponding to the threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
