<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus using high pixel image sensors capable of pixel addition and output for high speed reading suitable for high definition moving image, and to provide a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus using image sensors for reading pixel signals in XY address system using a color filter of RGB Bayer arrangement, adjoining two pixels of same color (R11 and R13) are added and one pixel (Gr14) of the other color not held between two pixels being added is read in the horizontal direction, whereas adjoining two pixels of same color (R11 and R31) are added and two pixels (Gb41 and Gb81) of the other color not held between two pixels being added are read while being added in the vertical direction, thus reducing the number of pixel signals to be read. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
