<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reproducibility of an image that is formed by restraining development ghosts over the whole area of the image. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 50, when it reads in image data Mi(t), corrects this image data Mi(t) on the basis of image data Mi(t-ts) read in one rotating period ts before of a development roller, and exposes a photoreceptor drum on the basis of image data Ni(t) resulting from the correction. As image data can be thereby so controlled as to restrain densities in development ghost-appearing regions, the occurrence of development ghosts can be appropriately restrained.
