<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for an endoscope device capable of facilitating maintenance work such as repair or inspection without degrading the performance during normal use. <P>SOLUTION: A second end 15b of a pipe member 15 is detached from a body part, and a jig 41 is connected to the second end 15b of the pipe member 15, detached from the body part. A leading-end composing part 4 is moved with respect to a flexible pipe part 3 in a direction from a basal end of the flexible pipe part 3 toward a leading end thereof, thereby exposing the leading-end composing part 4 out of the flexible pipe part 3, and maintenance work is carried out for at least part of the leading-end composing part 4. The pipe member 15 and the leading-end composing part 4 are pulled back into the flexible pipe part 3 by moving a maintenance jig 40 with respect to the flexible pipe part 3 in a direction from the leading end of the flexible pipe part 3 to the basal end thereof. After the maintenance work is carried out and the connecting portion between the maintenance jig 40 and the pipe member 15 is exposed from the basal end of the flexible pipe part 3, the pipe member 15 and the maintenance jig 40 are separated.
