PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a silicon resin is provided to manufacture a high molecular weight silicon resin which can form a film, does not require aromatic solvent, and does not have gelation. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a silicon resin comprises a step of conducting hydrolysis and condensation of an alkoxylate silicon resin medium, a silicon-coupled alkoxylation or hydroxylation silicon resin medium, or a mixture thereof, by using basic or acidic catalyst, or a mixture thereof, water, and aliphatic carboxylic acid ester. The silicon resin has a molar ratio of 5000 g/mol or more and polydispersity of 65 or less.
