PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a polarizer and a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate are provided to obtain a high optical property and to produce the polarizer with suppressed color unevenness stably at high speed, by swelling a polyvinyl film as controlling low stretching ratio along a lateral direction in a swelling bath. CONSTITUTION: Swelling processes(S1,S2) have processing liquid(X1,X2) in each processing bath(Y1,Y2). Each processing liquid has at least one guide roll. The processing bath has the processing liquid, and dips and transmits a polyvinyl alcohol film(W) into the processing liquid in the sequence of guide rolls(R11,R14), via the guide rolls arranged inside and outside the processing liquid. |
