The device has an electrode (1) implanted in an orbicular muscle of a functional eyelid (6) to detect a myo-electrical signal (8) produced by the muscle during closing of the eyelid. Another electrode (2) is implanted in an orbicular muscle of a paralyzed eyelid (7). An electronic control case (3) has an input (4) and an output (5) respectively connected to the former and latter electrodes. The case stores the myo-electrical signal and applies an electric electrostimulation current (9) to the paralyzed eyelid via the output and the latter electrode.
