This automatic vehicle-engine control device is provided with the following: a braking-amount detecting means that detects the amount (BRKP) by which the driver is braking; an engine stopping/restarting means that, when coasting, stops the engine if the detected braking amount (BRKP) exceeds a first threshold, and after stopping the engine, restarts the engine when the detected braking amount (BRKP) falls to or below the first threshold; and a threshold setting means. The lower a deceleration (DVSP), the lower the threshold setting means sets the first threshold. |
