The device i.e. vibration damper (3), has an energy storage unit exerting a pressing force on a cam disk connected with a crankshaft (2) such that the pressing force produces a moment at a rotational axis of the shaft. The energy storage unit is indirectly mounted in a housing-fixed manner, where a phase position of the pressing force is varied in relation to the shaft. The energy storage unit comprises a pressure spring in active connection with the cam disk by a contact element i.e. rotatable roller. The spring is held in an actuator housing.
