PURPOSE: An image pickup optical system is provided to implement miniaturization and a thin shape at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: A whole optical system includes a first lens(L1), a second lens(L2), a third lens(L3), a fourth lens(L4), and a fifth lens(L5) and selectively includes an optical filter(OF) and an aperture(AS). Since the first to fifth lenses are arranged from an object side to the front side of an image surface(IP) in order, a miniaturization is easy by arranging lenses which have a refractive power from the object in order and properly distributing a refractive power.
