A capacitive touch button system comprises a button panel (100), a vertical electrode (8) and a sensing element (72). The button panel (100) comprises a touch button (92) made of metal. Between the vertical electrode (8) and the touch button (92), a gap exists and an included angle is formed. The sensing element (72) is used for detecting the change of the capacitance between the touch button (92) and the vertical electrode (8). The metal touch button (92) and the metal sheet vertical electrode (8) form a capacitor that has the fringe field effect. The change of capacitance that occurs because of the change of the distance between the electrode plates of the capacitor is more sensitive than that of a parallel plate capacitor and can be sensed by the sensing element (72) more easily, and is therefore used as the input of button action signals, and compared with a parallel plate capacitive touch button, more sensitive sensing can be achieved. |
