PURPOSE: A circuit, a method, and a system for preventing overload are provided to provide an overload protection circuit with an inductor connected to a switching element in series, thereby improving reliability and economic feasibility. CONSTITUTION: A circuit for preventing overload comprises a controllable switching element(Q) which is connected in series between a power supply output and input load; a sensor which directly or indirectly measures current of the switching element; a control unit(35) which is for controlling the switching element based on the measured current; an inductor which is connected to the switching element in series; and a voltage-dependent element(Z) which is connected to the switching element in parallel. When the measured current is higher than a preset trigger threshold value, the control unit turns off the switching element. During off-times of the switching element, current in the inductor is treated to flow through the voltage-dependent element.
