The system (1) has a sensor section detecting operation conditions of an internal combustion engine. A crankshaft angle speed sensor (40) detects angular speed of a crankshaft of the engine. A control section (50) controls fuel injection factors according to the operation conditions of the engine to obtain the detected angular speed of the crankshaft for computing a position of peak pressure. The control section controls the fuel injection factors according to the computed position of the peak pressure. An injector (60) injects fuel according to the fuel injection factors. The operation conditions of the engine comprise throttle opening and engine speed. The fuel injection factors are main injection time control, pre-injection time control and pre-injection fuel amount. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling fuel injection (2) a method for computing a position of peak pressure to control fuel injection factors of an internal combustion engine.
